Best health/activity tracker on the market – battery life makes a huge difference!
If your primary purchase decision is a health/activity tracker, get the Fitbit Ionic. If you want a smart watch with a bunch of features (that you really will not use), get the Apple Watch. As a former Apple watch user I really love this.
Battery I don’t understand why this smart watch is being compared to apple watch 3

Built In GPS – Woot!
I bought an Ionic for one reason: GPS. I have been using a Blaze for more than a year and have been overall happy with its performance however, the lack of built in GPS started to frustrate me. I know it sounds like a “first world problem” but having to run with my phone in my pocket to be able to use the connected GPS, has become tedious. I do still have my Blaze and will probably keep it home as my sleep tracker.
Makes a solid first impression
Update: So, this is really weird, and definitely cool. My Ionic seems to be able to tell me when I’m sick or just need to slow down. My normal resting heart rate is in the low 50s. Recently, I had a sinus infection and it zoomed up to 62. When I started getting better, it went back down again. Then, I’ve been having a problem with my knee for a few months now. It’s been mostly in the tolerable range. Then, a couple of weeks ago, it got much worse all at once. My Ionic reported my resting heart rate back up to 60. I got a cortisone shot and my doctor told me not to run for 3 days. Even though steroids usually raise my heart rate, it went down 3 BPM overnight. When I started running again, it started climbing again. When I skip a run, it goes back down. MRI tomorrow.
Great running / activity watch
I love my Ionic! I went back and forth between the Apple series 3, Ionic and Garmin, and finally decided on Ionic. I have had two Garmins in the past and a FitBit charge 2. It came down to fashion or function for me, and I wanted more of a sports watch than anything.
I’m Glad That I Upgraded from the Blaze…Here’s Why
I hemmed and hawed over whether to buy this and replace my Blaze which I’d had for less than a year. What pulled me in was the promise of it being waterproof, having longer battery life and the inclusion 3rd party developed watch faces.
Everything is intuitive
It looks great, work great and so much better fit than charge2. Everthing from setting up to connection is very intuitive. No unnecessary button. The features are easy to use and access, A few trial and error and you will get how it works. Often use functions are just a few tabs away. You will familiar with it almost instantly. Love it
